About Cal Leister, the Founder of “The Commerce Web”

Cal has almost a decade's worth of experience performing eCommerce, web applications, and web site development work. Some of his more prominent clients include IBM, Intel, HP, Lockheed Martin, E*Trade, and Sun Microsystems. He has over two decades of leading edge information technology experience. He held senior engineering and management positions in taking SCO, Victor and Sun Microsystems public. Pre-Internet work includes stints at Intel in creating what is now known as the PC, and at NASA on next generation space shuttle design. He wrote one of the first Internet applications on the planet in 1984. He has been featured on the front page and business section of the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper as a Mister High Tech Santa Cruz. He has certificates from UCSC in Business Administration and Marketing, and is a certified Toastmaster.
